Rakesh Bhan is a Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years’ experience in Reinforcing Steel industry in New Zealand & Australia. 

Rakesh runs a small business as Managing Director of Ispat Contracting WA Pty Ltd  

Rakesh has been actively involved with ISWA since becoming its member and helped ISWA in buying land for ICC and a member of ICC Advisory group. 

Rakesh is presently ISWA General Management Committee member, Chairman ISWA Student Wing Sub Committee & member ISWA Senior Age Care group, marketing group, business group. 

Rakesh was founding President of Kashmiri Pandit Cultural Society of WA Inc. (KPCSWA) 

Rakesh was instrumental in creating a young Volunteers team for ISWA to help it in all it’s flag ship events like Diwali, Nari, Sangam, Holi, India Day Parade etc. 

Rakesh Secured WA Premier’s Covid Relief Funding for India through ISWA amounting AUD 82671, for Health Project in J&K  

Rakesh received a Certificate Of appreciation from CGI Perth on 15th August 2021 for his contribution to the Community Service 

Some Key achievements of Rakesh are as under: 

• Ran Covid Assistance help for Indian International Students during 2020 covid outbreak 
• Event Coordinator for Men’s Breakfast (NOR) 
• Event Coordinator for Holi 2021 

• Event Coordinator for ISWA Student Cricket Match 
• Event Coordinator for Homage at Kings Park to Martyred Soldiers including General Bipin Rawat COAS in Helicopter Crash 
• Event Coordinator for Subash Chandra Bose Jayanti 
• Event Coordinator for 2nd Covid Pop Up Clinic at ICC 

All above events were executed within the prescribed budget and no loss to ISWA exchequer 

Rakesh has been a great team player and helped every other ISWA Event coordinator for success of their respective events 

Rakesh has a core belief of selfless community service with honesty & transparency
