Deepak Sharma 

Deepak is a Senior Principal at Water Corporation, working in the area of infrastructure and commercial advisory, for the past ten years. He has previously worked at commercial banks and financial institutions working on project finance advisory transactions in India and Middle East. He is an electrical engineer with a master’s in business economics. 

Deepak has been actively involved with the community and is part of executive team at Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh and at ISWA. He has been actively involved in most of the events and activities organized within ISWA for the past two years: 

  • In the core ICC team, over the past two years, that provided commercial advise on the successfully development of the Indian Community Centre (ICC) project.  
  • Involved in the COVID assistance work  
  • Event coordinator for Men’s breakfast event in Sept 2020 
  • Successfully coordinated the ISWA Awards during the Diwali Mela 2022 event at Claremont Showgrounds 
  • Nominated Coordinator for Holi 2022. Did significant preparatory work prior to its cancellation at the final stages due to WA Government’s COVID measures. 
  • Event coordinator for a successful COVID pop up clinic held at ICC in March 2022 

Deepak is also active in the wider community and provides his leadership and governance skills for community welfare such as: 

  • Executive Board member and Treasurer at MIDLAS, a disability and financial advocacy not for profit organization. The organization has annual turn over of over $2m and employs close to 30 people. 
  • Parent Board member at Willetton Senior High School, a prestigious high school sought after by academically gifted students. Part of the project committee responsible for oversight and planning of capital projects at the high school. 
  • Member of the Superannuation committee at Water Corporation operated with AMP. 

He recently completed Leadership and Governance program 2021 organized by the Office for Multicultural Interest, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
