Women General Committee Member

Currently working for a NDIS Service provider within the Community Service sector for 16 years as a Manager, Community Supports. Worked with WA Education Department for 6 years.

Over the years I have been passionate in developing Arts program within the organisation and help create participant identity and develop self-esteem. Organised the first Art exhibition; envisioned and established Performing Arts Program in 2014 for people with disabilities – intellectual & mental health which has been running for last 8 years.

I have been an active volunteer in the community for over a decade.

  • ISWA Council Member since 2019. Associated with ISWA as a life member for more than a decade.
  • Participated and supported various ISWA events such as Diwali Mela 2020 and Diwali Mela 2021 Volunteered at the ISWA Business connect- up in COVID 19 Networking Event Sep 2020.
  • Active member of the Bengali Association of Western Australia (BAWA) to date. Previously held management positions over the years as President/Administrator, Cultural Co-ordinator and Festival Co-ordinator for BAWA.
  • Been part of the BAWA COVID 19 Volunteer Team to help raise funds and resources for International students stranded in Perth.
  • I have been successful in securing various Community Grants over the years which helped achieve wonderful outcomes for several individuals in developing their abilities.

I strongly believe in helping build an Inclusive Community, welcoming diverse groups of people, including, but not limited to, seniors, women, children, persons with disabilities and people with mental health issues – promoting all to actively engage in, contribute and have a stronger sense of belonging within the community by being valued for one’s abilities and uniqueness – regardless of disability. I also strongly promote for the support of women and gender-based equality in all contexts.
